INVOLVEMENT OF YOUNG NIGERIANS IN TODAY'S LEGISLATURES, NOT TO YOUNG TO RULE BY OMOOBA DAMILARE MOHAMMED BELLO

It is not news that some players of our legislature would not like to hear- fixing young Nigerians to break through the barriers required. This is achievable and can be done. However, if we the young generation can fix ourselves, all hands being on deck.

Foremost, it is an open secret that active political participation is interwoven with standing forward to represent interest of a constituency and tabling all lofty solution-based policies by going through the right polity which Omooba Damilare Bello of People's Democratic Party has rightful done.
In developing political system like ours, the National Assembly led by Sen. Bukola Saraki of PDP yielded to young Nigerians plea, via passing the _"Not Too Young to Lead"_ Bill.

As we occupy the civic and political space with jubilation on the bill enabling younger age bracket to contest and be voted for, many young Nigerians, who would otherwise try keep the older generation of politicians abrass, are unable to do so because less than 10% of us distanced self from political partisanship required of legislature.

Researchers also have it that, increasing number of young Nigerians abscond from collection of permanent voters card, and the few who have it, they did for the purpose of documentation, et al. Whereas, there is no polling unit on social media. This has a serious impact in political and electoral processes, essentially for youth who often use in formal methods of participation, such as activism on social platforms.

In addition, we have seen in recent time, a 'democratic' government restrict freedom of citizens to express, assemble, and demonstrate peacefully, including online platforms, twitter particularly. Abused human rights and other irregularities least expected of a democratic government.

Join us Next Monday for another time to know about practicality involved in youth and legislature, with Omooba Damilare Bello_

THANKS FOR THE TIME.
