The Silent Killer Disease Called Depression Invading Our Society

" You say you're 'depressed' - all I see is resilience. You are allowed to feel messed up inside out. It doesn't mean you're defective - it just means you're human" .
                       DAVID MITCHELL

Life is indeed a closet that hides so many issues of life and the heart is the drawer that keeps many brokenness, grief and pains away.

Depression is a killer disease daily eating up our beloved ones unknowingly to us, this disease is  so hard to heal nor control except God intervention .... oh yes, the counselling and their therapeutic session they can only help with little information patient are ready to let out but what happens to thousands of people who cannot share these hurts and pain but daily bottle it up and emotionally they are collapsing and dying internally till they breathe their last.

May we not experience and encounter ordeals that are much more greater than our psychological and emotional strength. The moment we are unable to bear this pain, the killer disease called depression sets in.

How can you preach and comfort an innocent child who was rape by family member, loved one or gang raped, how do you heal a mother whose only child is gone, how do you comfort a spouse whose beloved partner dies in their hands, what consolation do you give a man who watched as everything they have ever worked for in life got destroyed, how do you  talk out a spouse abandoned by their partners to cater alone for the kids, how do you comfort a child abandoned by parents and he/ she is alone to face the reality of life.
Most in the psychiatric hospitals today are not mentally derailed or sick but emotionally they couldn't hold the pain they battled inside of them any longer and it eventually result to mental breakdown.

Honestly speaking, depression is real and gradually eating up in our society, it should not be a topic to be waved aside in the home, schools, religious homes, marriage and family seminars and training.

May we not experience tragedy beyond our faith and emotional strength, alot are going through so much these days the only coverage is that they come out to the society looking Radiant and good but in their closet they are a mess (broken and shattered) , so much pain and hurt and the next thing you hear is mental breakdown or suicide (which is not an option).

God please in your mercy,  heal our brokenness and help us grow out of our pains and restore our joy in every area we are in pain . Endeavour to check up on your loved ones and friends on a regular basis, your show of care and concern might help their healing process and go a long way in recuperating .
