Be Good Ambassadors Of Islam: ACOMORAN PRO Charges Ogun State Members

The Ogun State Public Relations Officer of ACOMORAN, Aremo Agunbiade has called on members of the Association in the state to be good ambassadors of Islam while observing this year's Ramadan.

He made this call during a phone conversation with reporters while sharing the plans of the association to restart its activities after the lockdown is lifted.

While wishing all Muslim faithfuls the very best during Ramadan, he charged them to pray for the country to overcome the scourge of Covid-19, saying that the role of prayer cannot be overemphasized.

"We are at a critical point, where our county is working hard to overcome the spread of Covid-19. We urge our Muslim brothers and sisters to remember the country in their prayers while observing Ramadan", he said.

"Fasting is a divine obligation. It is Allah's blessing upon his worshippers which lies at the foundation of a human's spiritual nobility and perfection".

He however cited a saying attributed to the Holy Prophet about staying safe, not contaminating others and maintaining good hygiene in the event of pandemics.

“Many centuries ago, our Prophet urged his people to eliminate the element of contact to save lives. It shows how much Islam values protection of life and health".

“Socially, people will be deprived of traditions like swapping dishes between community members, or hosting and attending any community gatherings,” he says, which are major aspects of Ramadan that have been practiced for more than 1,000 years.

Aremo thanked members of the Association for their compliance to the stay-at-home executive order placed on the state by the government in an effort to slow the advance of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Association has pledged to continue its support to members through this distribution of palliatives for as long as the lockdown lasts
