The chairman, transition committee Abeokuta South Local Government, hon. Ayodeji Michael Shomide has strongly denounced the incessant rape in the society.
Shomide in his statement made it known to the public at ABSLG areas that the illicit act is shown to be a global social problem and its perpetrators cut across all age brackets that whoever or group of people engage in the reprobate should by now shun it and keep off doing it.
He press further said, rape is an unacceptable act and should be totally reproved by all sundry, stated that it is an unlawful sexual activity and unusual sexual intercourse carried forcefully or under threat of injury against a person's will or with an under age person.
He, however, advised the parents not to shy away but take responsibilities in taking good care of their children/wards while endeavour that continues parental eye is on the children/wards, most especially in this bout period
In the same vein, he urged the young ladies in the societies to shun indecent dress of styles in the public for the forgoing may even introduce an attack on them.
The council boss therefore enjoined the perpetrators to desist from the criminal act for the government is on the verge to enforce stringent laws that will face the menace off in the societies.
