FFS EMERGES MOST PERFORMING LG CHAIRMAN IN OGUN STATE

In recognition of his untiring and determined efforts to further repositioning governance and administrative system in Ifo Local Government, the Chairman, Transition Committee, Hon. Fola Salami (FFS) has been adjudged as the "Most Performing Local Government Chairman" by Amebo News Hub, a leading online newspaper.

The organizer/convener of the award, Solanke Ayodimeji Taiwo who announced the award shortly after conducting a 3-day online poll that earned the chairman a total of 1,313 votes to have defeated his Ewekoro counterpart, Muyiwa Babyemi who garnered 1,201 votes, noted that the award was an avenue to identify with excellence and quality service delivery at the grassroot level.

Receiving the award, Hon. Salami appreciated the online voters for their consistent commitments and unwavering support at appreciating the various developmental projects initiated by the Transition Committee of Ifo Local Government Council under his leadership, noting that such would further spur the Transition Committee to improve on the delivery of more democratic dividends to the people whose expectations from government remain unlimited.

According to the Chairman who commended the uniqueness of the online award and it criteria, "this award doesn't belong to me because it is not about my person but all of us in Ifo as a united family of values. I will accept it on behalf of the real owners of the award, the Public Officers of the council and also all the taxpayers who have given us the tool and resources to do our laudable works".

"Collective success must be, and is indeed, more important than individual recognition. A Government is no different from a football club, to the extent that they comprise individuals of different talents, passions and experiences who must work together to deliver service to the public.

Appreciating Governor Dapo Abiodun for his exemplary leadership style that remained a model for others at the council level to emulate, the transition Chairman called for more support for the State government through prompt payment of tax and maintenance of existing infrastructural projects, while more would soon be delivered.
