COVID-19: Ogun APC Youth Launches Project, " SHIELD UP OGUN"




         The APC youth wing under the auspices of a great youths headman, Comrade Aroboto Rasheed and supported by Dr. Angel Adelaja, the SSA on Agriculture to the Ogun state government launched project "Shield Up Ogun", an initiative with the mission to dole out locally made face shield to the Ogun state people.


         
         This project was borne out of the compelling effort to support the government and empower women and youth of Ogun state who are makers of these shields. The initiator, SSA on Agriculture Dr. Adelaja Angel highlighted the usefulness of the face shield and how it'll help in reducing the spread of the virus.

   
    
          The youth being the bedrock of every successful administration must as well in trying times contributes their quota in instilling hope to hopeless and encouraging the discouraged. This and more are reasons why the initiative was made to manifest.

         Speaking at the event which took place at the All Progressives Congress party Secretariat, the Leader of the APC Youth wing Ogun chapter Comr. Rasheed Aroboto echoed that "the motive behind giving out to the less privilege is a huge way of supporting the government as this goes a long way in the total enhancement of the fight against the virus. He reverberated that the youth are not just elections utility but stakeholders in the fight against the pandemic if well equipped.

         His submission was well complemented by Aderenle Micheal's, the Public relations officer of DA Likeminds who made it clear that, This project has to go far and wide. It is no doubt a laudable effort in reducing the spread of the virus and will in no time help in exterminating it. "I implore everyone to use the mask and starve the virus, he reiterated.


         Some of the Invited guests who added colours to the launch of the project are; Comr. Adeyemi Azzez SA student Affairs, Comr. Olamide Lawal SA youth and sport, Hon. Abolade Olowookere Abeokuta South, Sanni Addi
SA on inter ethnic affairs, and many other youth strongholds.

         Howbeit, after launch, one thousand pieces of the face shield was donated to APC Youth Wing for free distribution to youth across the state through some selected APC Youth wing state coordinators. According to the initiator, many more will soon be disbursed as production is still ongoing.

         "As we are building our future together, the people who are at the forefront of the capacity building should be protected from this ravaging pandemic", Dr. Angel asserted.
