CSP Saheed Olayinka Omokuleyin Aremu Egbeyemi was born on August 4th in the early 70’s at community area in Agege, Lagos State. He is a rare gem and a proud ambassador of Agege his hood where he was born , SAHEED started his educational career in 1976 at Kaps Day Nursery and Primary School, Capitol Road Agege and African Church Central Primary School, Oniwaya road, Agege for his Primary School Leaving Certificate and later proceeded to Anwar-Ul-Islam College, Agege (formerly Ahmadiya College) between 1985-1991. EGBEYEMI is so much aquinted with Lagos metro ‘community ‘ road network and development .
In his bid to impact his world positively ,He gained a provisional admission into Ondo State University ( now Ekiti State University), Ado Ekiti, to study Philosophy where obtain first degree and also obtained Masters Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies at Lagos State University (LASU) respectively. Egbeyemi did his one year compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ikono LGA of Akwa-Ibom State between 1999-2000 with recordes of positive impacts to the community despite other challenges that could hinder him.After his NYSC,CSP Olayinka got a job with the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture & Cooperative as registrar between 2001-2002.
CSP Egbeyemi began his Police career and a student between August 15, 2002 to February 2004 of Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano where he was trained as a Cadet Assistant
Superintendent of Police (ASP). Olayinka began his Police Career in Aguda Police Station, Surulere, Lagos for his one year compulsory attachment, where he spent only 3 months and concluded it at Elere Police Station, Agege in the same community he was raised. where he later became Officer in-charge of the Anti-robbery squad. Crime Officer at Alausa Divisional Police Station, Deputy Police PRO, Lagos State Command, PA and Later, Officer-in-charge, DC Secretariat, State CID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, Staff Officer to Inspector General of Police IGP Mike Okiro at Force Headquarters, Abuja, Unit Commander Mopol 20, Ikeja Lagos and ADC to Governor Ibikunle Amosun (FCA, CON) Area crime Officer at Area G, Ogba in year 2014. All these Experience gave him edge unequivocal amongs others .
The journey continues ,he worked as DPO, Mosafejo Police Station, Oshodi, Lagos, DPO, Aguda Police Station, Surulere, Lagos, DPO Ilupeju Police Division, Lagos and DPO, Sango-Ota Police Station in Ogun State where he transformed the Division to a state of the heart Division within 6 months and fought crime to the bearest minimum.
With all humility , from the analysis and journey of his policing and the track record advertise him for excellent performance for community Policing with gigantics success.
CSP Egbeyemi was appointed as the Chairman of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit (Task Force) , Safety Arena, Bolade-Oshodi, Lagos by the former Governor of Lagos State; Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
He also recieved so many awards due to his outstanding performance.
CSP Egbeyemi has attended several courses, both at home and abroad, which includes;Peace Support Operation and Anti-Terrorist Course at the Prestigious Centre of Excellence for Stability Police Unit (COESPU) in Italy, Combat craft operation at Gwoza, Borno State, Leadership and Citizenship Training at Shere Hills, Jos Plateau State.VIP protection and Aide-Dc-camp (ADC) Induction course at Police Staff College, Jos, Plateau State in July, 2011. Ad-Hoc duties includes; Joint Task Force (JTF) within the military and DSS in Potiskum, Yobe and Kano State, engaging the insurgents in 2012 and 2014 respectively. CSP Egbeyemi also participated at the ‘South-West Regional Security Management Course (SWRSMC)’ being put together by Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) and office of the Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Security and Intelligence. He obtained Diploma in ‘Diplomacy and National Security’ at Galilee International Management Institute, Israel in December, 2018. He is a member of International Association of Chiefs of Police and has attended the IACP Conferences at Philadelphia, Florida, Chicago and San Diego in California 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively in the United States of America.
On May 29th after his inauguration, the Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu re-appointed CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi as the Chairman of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit (Taskforce) with full capacity.
CSP Egbeyemi aside being a Police Chief is also a Prolific writer and a poet, a part of him many people find unbelievable because of his ever relentless and hard working spirit on the field as a Police officer but to him, writing is a gift and his objectives in his write-ups is to showcase the beauty of African Heritage. He is happily married and blessed with children.
Saheed Egbeyemiis a humble and loyal Officer, he has works resssillently with many CP of Lagos State while dutifully carried out all assignment given to him without hesitation. Till date , CSP Egbeyemi enjoys the mentorship of CP Odumosu and AIG Alhmed Iliyasu for their supports and unrelented guide to his office .In the police career, Egbeyemi is dedicated to his assignments and a good mobilizer to ensure the law breakers are seized accordingly.
